Warming Up: My Winter Wardrobe!

While autumn seemed to take its time getting here, winter in the Bay Area has arrived right on time, and with a vengeance. It’s an El Nino year, which means good things for the four year drought we’ve been experiencing, but it also means I’ll be getting a lot more use out of my raincoat… Thankfully, I also got new rain boots this holiday season and it looks like they won’t be collecting any dust!

Colder wet weather also means I’ll need to add some warmer items to my everyday “uniform” of jeans, Ts and boots. I’ve already got most of the basics in my closet, but adding a few fresh new items is nice and of course there were a few things I had my eye on.

Ts of Interest

I’m a t-shirt girl, the softer the better, and when I finally get to take off my raincoat I’ll want something of interest underneath. Stripes, glitter, camo, thermal… Yes, please!

Channeling My Inner Seattle

Flannel shirts are everywhere these days and I am loving them! They are perfect for layering and add a nice little pop of color. Add a hoodie over the top or better yet, get a hoodie made out of flannel, layer it over a thermal and you’ve achieved perfection!

You can take the girl out of Seattle, but you can’t take the Seattle out of the girl…

Cozy & Chic – Cozy Chic?

Now that the holidays have come and gone, the calendar has slowed down and there aren’t as many opportunities for playing dress up. No matter, opportunities will arise, and when they do I’m all set for the colder weather with a camo sweater, cozy wool trousers and an incredibly soft moleskin LBD, all of which can be mixed and matched as well as dressed up or down.

Brrr… It’s Cold Outside, Sort Of…

I’m happy to say we don’t have too many really cold months here in the Bay Area. For the most part I get by with a hoodie and vest, but on those days when I need something more, I love this thick marshmallowy sweater jacket!

Endless Possibilities!

I tend toward more neutral shades with the occasional pop of color or pattern. Because of this everything you see here works with the items I already have in my closet. This makes it easier to Mix and match for endless possibilities!

Here are just a few of the outfits I put together with the items mentioned above!
